Right after 9 at night. Trump is on his way to Davos so as to attend the World Economic Forum, now for a third time. CNN tells us that Airforce One was forced to turn around because the plane suffered some electrical issue. Trump, who wants nothing than more to be seen as the embodiment of strength and competence, can’t be happy about this. Just as he was about to tell the globalist bigwigs that he is the man who will herald the AI Paradigm, he suffers an embarrassing setback, likely because of some dirty mechanic who knows only analog. More, the presidential plane, we’re told, is “very old.” He rebuilt an entire military but can’t get his plane refurbished. Sad.
Will Trump make it to Davos? Can he convince Klaus Schwab to turn him into a robot and thereby live forever?
Doubtful. CNN guy says that, all week, the Davos crowd has been screaming about how that they can no longer rely on the United States, this because Trump wants to “attack” the NATO allies; “destroy the world order,” he says dramatically. Well, to play devil’s advocate, who says we’re dealing with the same Europe that defeated the Nazis? Perhaps the character of Europe has changed so much that “historical allies” now has a different taste. Spitball: Trump is angry that Britain arrests nearly as many for exercising their free speech rights as that plutocracy we’re obsessed with toppling.
I correct myself: that wouldn’t bother Trump. He cares little about Free Speech, except when his acolytes are giving him a loud, public shine.
Plane has landed. “Trump made a joke: ‘I’m sure everyone is really excited to see me.’” Sarcasm can’t hide that ego. Expect footage of him, first stumbling out of Air Force One, then trying to steady his large frame upon two feeble legs in front of the Davos crowd.
Flip to FOX. Clip of some leftwing guy screaming about the hypocrisy of churchgoers; Christ, it is thought, would stand with the immigrants who are being deported. The utterly unimpressive Jack Posobiec gives comment: they’re targeting churches!
What keen political insight.
Some lefties raided a church service and caused a ruckus. Once. But what Christian churches have faced widespread persecution in this country? Although leftwing commentators sometimes criticize religion writ large, they surely know that such movements have historically been supported by churches. They’ll also find it difficult to cry about “islamophobia” while wiping their feet on those who kneel before the cross.
As for that most divisive of all issues – immigration – I seem to think there’s a few verses in the bible that instruct believers to be welcoming of “strangers in your land.” One reason I don’t build my moral framework using ancient scripture. I wish not to tie myself into knots trying to find that particular verse which allows for masked federal agents to burst onto private property and snatch people while demanding documentation papers. I don’t think its in there.
Yet there is no other subject which splits the country. A wide-open border is widely unpopular; snatching people in the manner in which we see on our Screens is also unpopular. For that, protests have been breaking out all over the nation. More of them came out today, Trump’s start of a second year in office.
I find out too late that the ugly desert park I go to nearly every day was the scene of one of these protests. ABC reports on a hundred Red Mountain High Schoolers who took to the dry, sunny sidewalks. On one of the few days I don’t drive through for a boring stroll. Someone close said the students refused to allow cars to enter the park. Sounds inaccurate. The protests have been very peaceful, and I can’t find any reports about any arrests.
Really need to finish my video report from Los Angeles during the inaugural No Kings protests. I can’t deny it: despite the many differences, a big part of me is proud and relieved that Americans are out there challenging the man who believes he can do whatever he wants, be it taking over hemispheric neighbors or punishing his enemies. We require those who take to the streets and say NO. It is, after all, our….God-Given Right.
Back to CNN. Canadian Prime Minister Carney: “The world powers must work together, because if we’re not at the table, we’re on the menu.” My former governor, Newsom, admonishes European leaders for being too soft against Trump. “I should have brought knee pads,” the governor of the Pyrite State says.
A ribald riposte, right there on national television!
We can’t ignore those who see a deception in play, a distraction at work. All day, every day, the Doomscroll reminds us about the Epstein Files. It becomes more difficult to focus on a pedophile who cozied up with elites when you’re struck with the fear of ICE agents raiding the motel you’re staying in, with your Mexican maid soon being thrown into the back of an unmarked vehicle. “Who’s going to change my sheets now?” isn’t quite as paralyzing as “do I really want to be asked about my papers too?” On the Doomscroll, everyone is happening at once, but it’s likely you’ll pay less mind about such a headline: “One Month After the Epstein Files Deadline, only a Fraction of the DOJ’s Records have been Released.” The Justice Department responded with a filing to the Southern District of New York:
Compliance with the Act is a substantial undertaking, principally because, for a substantial number of documents, careful, manual review is necessary to ensure that victim-identifying information is redacted before materials are released.
Representative Khanna, coauthor of the bill, deemed this no less than obstruction. If only Trump had held up pictures of the powerful men (and women?) who are rumored to have fucked little girls on Epstein’s Island.
